Some follow the Sermon on the Mount about how we have to change... and others teach that good works get you nowhere. And others focus on the universal light (more on my bio.)
Are Christians forever divided over doctrines? And can a house divided remain standing very long.A house divided can not stand. Are Christians divided over doctrines?
Not long. This is why Jesus is going to come. Good works get you nowhere IF you aren't doing them in the name of the Lord. This is why an Atheist who is a 'good' person cannot make it to heaven. This is why a Christian who is a 'bad' person cannot make it to heaven either.
There has been sectarian fighting in Christianity since the very beginning of the cult.A house divided can not stand. Are Christians divided over doctrines?
No. Christians know the truth. It's the ones who call themselves Christians that twist the Word of God that don't.
YesA house divided can not stand. Are Christians divided over doctrines?
Yes, we all know that the people they hate the most, are each other.
For over 2000 years now, it was always split, even on day 1.
Good point they cannot. However, more and more Christians believe that the "true" Church does not reside solely within any denomination.
A Christian will be lead by the Spirit and know the Word.
True Christains are not divided, so call Christians is, My wife %26amp; I both see the bible the same way, we have been married 18 yrs, %26amp; not one time have we argued about scriptures, Why you may ask, Because if we both have the Holy Ghost of which we do, Then that Holy Ghost will teach us the samething.
Good point...Matthew 7:21 (King James Version)
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
"Don't divide over doctrine, follow mine."
Is that what you mean? It doesn't strike me as a very useful position, even if it did work for the Catholic Church for several centuries. Of course, they had to execute dissenters.
Nothing new. Even in Christ's time there has been infighting among every religious sect that existed. Most of it stems from people wanting to mold their religion to fit their lifestyle instead of vice versa. It's pretty simple, but we complicate it to justify our actions. We all will likely go to hell for innocently believing what we were raised to believe. Remember, everyone, the Bible was translated by humans into different languages. HUMANS. If there was anything offensive to King James, you can be assured he had it changed.
apparently...that is why they have so many factions
Yes--Catholicism and Protestantism have very different views that cannot be reconciled. The reason for the Reformation was that Protestants--Martin Luther, to be exact--were disgusted with certain practices and beliefs of the Catholic Church. For example, the Catholics believed that the priest was the intermediary between God and the laypeople, and Protestants believed that all people-not just priests--have a direct connection with God.
What do you expect would happen when someone takes one verse, or a misinterpretation and runs with it to create a whole new church. What do you expect to happen when most churches teach incorrectly, while a few teach it correctly? Did you have a point to make?
